Anti-Competitive Trend Is Worrying
Is anyone else disturbed by this new trend for insurance adverts to proudly boast "remember, we're not on any comparison web sites", like it's a selling point? What they're actually saying is that, if you want to compare prices and find the best deal for you, you'll have to go back to the bad old days of trawling the web getting quotes from the dozens of UK insurance providers - a time-consuming bore that the comparison web sites tried to address.
Think about it: why would you not want to be listed on comparison web sites? Because you're prices are so competitive that you don't want customers to find out how good a deal they're getting?
Web sites that make comparing deals easier empower consumers. It seems some insurers would rather they weren't.
